Let us call this war as Tik Tok`s vs Youtuber`s.
TikTok vs Youtube.
Youtube is a long video platform where any person can create content. The daily average users of youtube are nearly around 26 crores.
Tik Tok is a short video platform launched 3 years ago i.e. in the year 2017. The daily average Tik Tok users are around 20 crores.
What actually happened?
Youtube has a roasting culture where some renowned Indian YouTubers roast the fellow YouTubers/Tv serials/ Cringe content on Tik Tok. Recently a YouTuber named Elvish Yadav roasted some creators from Tik Tok stating that these people are giving creator tag very easily just because of the following of uneducated people After this roast A Tik Toker named Amir Siddique from team nawab made an IG TV video roasting the whole YouTube community. As soon as Amir Siddique posted this all the roasters from youtube community stood as one and roasted Tik Tok and Tik Tokers as well calling their content and creators cringe. Somedays back one of the best Indian YouTuber – Ajay Nagar (Carryminati) who is known for roasting, made a video on his channel – Carryminati. The video was a boom in the digital industry of India and broke many records and he gained more than 1.2 million subscribers in less than 24 hrs.
My view on this :
Both the Tik Tok and Youtube are digital entertaining platforms and we as audience and creators should not watch cringe content and create cringe content. To be honest both platforms do have very good content that can add value to your life as view it’s our responsibility to encourage good content and avoid cringe content.
Let me explain to you how Tik To’
s and YouTube`s Algorithm
If the user watches any kind of content more than one time then the app automatically provides you with similar content. For example, if you spend complete 15 seconds/like the content which is cringing then as you scroll down on Tik Tok you will find the same kind of content and you will belive Tik Tok is filled with cringe content only. Many personalities like Gary/ Bollywood actors understood the potential of Tik Tok and its reach to the tier 3 cities/areas are on this platform making content. Youtube is also planning to launch its own short video platform within the app know as YOUTUBE SHORTS.
My final say is if the companies ( Youtube and TikTok) arent creating beef in between them then I don’t think their creators should do it. We have to see both the platforms as entertaining platforms and its the duty of the audience to select what kind of content is to be watched and in my view, Tik Tok creators overreacted as the roasters from youTube just roasted the cringe content of TikTok.
